چکیده
The use of latent heat thermal energy storage is an effective way to increase the efficiency systems due its high density compared with sensible systems. design material encapsulation one key parameters that critically affect transfer in charging/discharging system. To fill gap found literature, this paper experimentally investigates effect macro-encapsulation on performance a lab-scale tank. Two rectangular slabs same length and width but different thickness (35 mm 17 mm) filled commercial phase change were used. results show using thinner achieved higher power, leading reduction charging discharging time 14% 30%, respectively, thicker slabs. Moreover, variation fluid flow rate has deeper impact temperature distribution charged/released when did not have significant tank, which was around 85% for operating thresholds considered study.

in this work, a thermal energy storage system was designed and equipped with measuring instruments to study heat transfer characteristics and energy storage and release. in this system, a cubic container which is made of plexiglass was filled with dodecanoic acid as a phase change material. in order to transfer heat to the storage container, a constant temperature heat exchanger was designed an...
متن کاملDevelopment of Hollow Steel Ball Macro-Encapsulated PCM for Thermal Energy Storage Concrete
The application of thermal energy storage with phase change materials (PCMs) for energy efficiency of buildings grew rapidly in the last few years. In this research, octadecane paraffin was served as a PCM, and a structural concrete with the function of indoor temperature control was developed by using a macro-encapsulated PCM hollow steel ball (HSB). The macro-encapsulated PCM-HSB was prepared...

Energy efficiency in a building complex through seasonal storage of thermal energy in a confined aquifer
Confined aquifers are formations surrounded by impermeable layers called cap rocks and bed rocks. These aquifers are suitable for the seasonal storage of thermal energy. A confined aquifer was designed to meet the cooling and heating energy needs of a residential building complex located in Tehran, Iran. The annual cooling and heating energy needs of the buildings were estimated to be 8.7...
